How much is the course?

Six hundred and ninety five dollars. ICBC charges an extra fee of $50 for your final Road Test.


How long is it?

It's seven consecutive days. 1 day of theory 2 days on closed range 3 days on streets


What are the hours?

Night classes are:

Thursday 7-10pm
Friday 7pm-10pm
Saturday 1pm-8pm
Sunday 3pm-8pm
Monday 7pm-10pm
Tuesday 7pm-10pm
Wednesday 7pm-11pm
Road test by appointment (1 hour)

Night class schedule is subject to changes during peak season.

What is covered in the course?

Everything. We cover the theory behind riding, attitudes, gear and the motorcycle itself. Practical is also covered in the course on our closed range. During the remaining third of the course, we all go out on the road together for road rides to practice what you learned so far. Here are a few examples of key subjects that will be covered during your ProRide course.

What if it rains?

We go rain or shine. We supply full-body raingear, free of charge.


What is included in the 695 dollars?

  • The use of our 2001 Honda Rebels (250cc), new helmets, leather gloves and full-body raingear.
  • The use of our motorcycles during the Motorcycle Skills Test (MSA), at no extra charge.
  • A ProRide Student discount card as well as the opportunity to recieve exciting photographs of you during your training.
  • One hour of private one-on-one training is included in your tuition as well - this hour applies to the MSA test portion only.
  • You'll receive invitations to our rides, clinics, parties and "fun days".

What if I fail the Road Test?

You can re-book through us for the following week of no charge from us. Please be aware that ICBC does charge $50 dollars per Final Road Test. You get the use of our bikes, helmets, gloves, and raingear for each Final Road Test attempt.


What do I need to get into a ProRide course?

You need a Class 5 license (car)*, and you also need to have a Class 6 (motorcycle) learners' license, which can be attained at any ICBC Driver Services Centre. Please be aware that in order for ICBC to conduct the Final Road Test, you need to have had your learners' license for at a minimum of 30 days. Tuition must be paid in full upon registration. What if I can't make the course at the last minute or have to cancel?

The registration fee is fully refundable with two weeks notice, subject to a small administration fee. You will not receive a refund if you cancel or make schedule changes within two weeks of your course start date.


What if I miss a class?

Students CANNOT miss any class time. If an emergency situation arises during the course, it is possible to make up lost time when an opening is available.


Is training hard?

Yes, it is physically and mentally demanding and something to be taken seriously. At the same time, it is very fulfilling and gratifying to accomplish such a goal, and you'll have a blast doing it too.


Will Proride arrange for my road test or will I have to book my own through ICBC?

Yes we will arrange for the Final Road Test, as well as the MSA test. We will take care of all bookings for you - simply tell us when you can make it, and we will take care of the rest.


I have never ridden a motorcycle in my life. Will I have any problems?

NO, but you will have challenges. You do need to realize that learning to ride a motorcycle can be physically and mentally demanding. It is something to be taken seriously. Bicycling riding experience is a major bonus.


What is your pass rate on the Final Road Test?

Our students pass rate on the Final Road Test fluctuates between 75% and 85% percent, compared to a low 55% pass rate for the untrained public and those not participating in ProRide's course.


What type of gear do I need for the course or will you provide it?

All you need is a jacket made of kevlar, leather, or denim(jean), and proper footwear that covers your ankle. We will supply you with leather gloves, raingear, full face helmets, and a 2001 Honda motorcycle. We have a few extra jackets if needed.


How often does the course run?

Courses start every Friday night.


How many students are in each class?

We cap each class at 10 students max.


How many students are there to one instructor?

We have one instructor for every five students so that you can get the personal attention and feedback needed to ensure proper and safe training.


Can I use my own motorcycle for the road test?

Yes you can, if you prefer. You may not use your own bike during the course.


Does this course guarantee me a motorcycle license?

No, nobody is legally allowed to guarantee you your license. We will, however, continue to train you, and test you, until you have attained your license. If you don't give up, we won't either.


How do I register for one of your training courses?

Registering for one of our courses is simple. Follow the checklist below and you'll soon be on your way to a long and safe riding career:

Before you begin, you will need to have both your Class 5 (car) license and your Class 6 (motorcycle) learner's license. Keep in mind when registering that you must have had your Class 6 learner's license for a minimum of 30 days before you do your Final Road Test on the last day of the course.
